Senior Graphic Designer
These are exciting times for the charity, and there is now an excellent opportunity for an exceptionally creative and innovative professional with strong leadership and interpersonal skills to join the busy Brand and Design Department as Senior Graphic Designer.
Position: Senior Graphic Designer
Location: Sidmouth, Devon/Hybrid (onsite attendance currently estimated to be 2 days per week)
Salary: £36,604 per annum
Hours: 35 hours per week, 08.30-16.30, Monday-Friday
Contract: 12-month fixed term contract starting as soon as possible
Closing Date: Sunday 5 February 2023
The Role
As Senior Graphic Designer, you will take the lead in creating, supervising, and leading on visual brand communications, displaying advanced expertise in graphic design concepts, design for print, digital design, illustration, outdoor collateral and experiential events.
Your principal duties and responsibilities will include:
- Deputising in a lead project management role where required
- Working in both a supervisory and hands on capacity across a broad range of creative disciplines, including creation of original concepts, illustrations and infographics for a broad range of print campaigns, events, digital campaigns and product design
- Acting as mentor and supervisor to graphic designers
- Planning and organising work for self and for the graphic designers on multiple projects concurrently
- Deliver designed assets that are specifically crafted for the digital and social media channels
- Providing guidance and advice to teams and individuals at all levels across the charity.
About You
As Senior Graphic Designer, you will be experienced in creating designs for print, online, experiential and digital within organisational brand guidelines, holding a formally recognised graphic design or creative qualification.
You will have:
- Advanced skills in visualising and creating design concepts that include: typography, illustrations, logos, layouts and photography.
- Confidence in shaping the visual aspects of mailings, brochures, display posters, books, magazines, product packaging and live events with an advanced awareness of how to deliver key content and messaging through exceptional design and visual content.
- An excellent understanding of contemporary design practices and trends and their role within a charity/fundraising environment.
- Demonstrable skills in professional design software and technologies and in digital-specific design, including digital typography, animation, accessibility and use of specialist software including Adobe After Effects.
- Expertise in digital image editing and sizing, UX design, digital and social ad and post formats, video editing and email interface design.
- Experience of working in a supervisory or mentor capacity.
