Machine Operator – Entry Level

 

Summary

Responsible for tending grinding machines to grind precision carbide and/or ceramic parts. Operate manual and CNC grinding machines.

Job Requirements

  • Strong mechanical background and/or aptitude.
  • Willing to learn and improve skills operating machines.
  • Basic computer skills to enter job data.
  • Self-motivated and team oriented.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers.
  • Monitor consumables and advise production manager of re-order needs.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Maintain work area clean and organized daily.
  • High school diploma, or 2 years of relevant work experience in manufacturing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate manual and/or CNC grinders.
  • Ability to hold required tolerances.
  • Investigate ways to improve production speed and quality within job function.
  • Accurate and timely data entry into ERP system.
  • Monitor consumables and advise production manager of re-order needs.
  • Keep an accurate maintenance records of machines used.
  • General clean-up and facility cleanliness.
  • Visual & measured inspection.
  • Additional manufacturing tasks as required/instructed by supervisor(s).

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to stand; use hands to handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally walk, climb, balance, bend, lift, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl
  • Regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 70+ pounds with assistance.

Preferred Skills

  • Ability to read and use measuring equipment.
  • Ability to read and follow blueprints.
  • Prior CNC experience
