This Occupational Health Nurse Advisor role has broad responsibilities, all designed to protect employee health and safety and wellbeing. In this role, the ideal candidate will advise employees and managers regarding work related health issues in order to maintain a culture of attendance and productivity. You will also be part of a wider campus HR team, a network of other OH Nurses in the UK and the P&G global medical practice to deliver world class OH services to your organisations.
Key responsibilities:
Management Referrals
- Advise management regarding employees health issues and fitness for work.
- Make recommendations for adjustments and safe/healthy working environments as required.
- Provide comprehensive report, including returning-to-work plans with graduated time line and facilitating rehabilitation as required.
- Regularly review the site absence data with HR and agree required interventions.
Health Surveillance
- Provide relevant health surveillance to employees working at the site including forkliftruck, audiometry, skin, and spirometry, as well as night working and enzyme exposure.
- Manage recall system for all health surveillance programmes at the site.
Fitness for Work
- Review post-offer health questionnaires and conduct any relevant follow up as needed; once complete issue Fitness for Work certificate.
- Review health assessments to determine individuals safety in using the onsite fitness facilities.
- Undertake workplace assessment for individual employees in respect of workstations and ergonomics related to working practices.
Health Promotion and Wellbeing
- Be the lead for the Vibrant Living employee wellness programme by working with a wider team to provide regular health promotions at the site with a focus towards leading causes of illness and on occupational factors based on site health needs analysis data; utilising the network of team members to develop engaging health awareness initiatives.
- Conduct voluntary health screening for employees, comprising BMI, blood pressure, blood glucose and cholesterol and utilising the organisations Online Wellness Tool, with an aim towards healthier lifestyles.
Health Systems Management
- Lead the process for ensuring compliance with Medical Health Systems Key Elements audit program , ensuring all standards achieve/maintain capability rating, deploying any changes or actions to bring to required level; prepare documentation for audit.
- Maintain data in to the Global Occupational Health databases and provide annual reports.
Other
- Provide vaccination advice and immunisation where needed.
- Assist onsite first aider network to ensure they can support and emergency care for all occupational injuries and illnesses and any acute illness developing at the workplace.
- Ensure medical equipment is checked regularly and ensuring adequate supplies for OH activities are available
- Attend clinical conferences when required to ensure further learning and networking opportunity.

Qualifications
What we are looking for:
- Education:Registered Adult Nurse or a Registered Specialist Comm Public Health Nurse OH an advantage but anyone with relevant experience should also apply.
- Professional experience: The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate commitment and drive to make a difference and be able to work equally well independently or as part of a larger team. Good IT skills and communication skills are desired attributes. Previous experience in a manufacturing environment desirable though not essential.
- Languages: Proficiency in English.
- Geography : Ability to work permanently in UK as the role will be mainly based at the P&G Reading campus.
