The Finance Manager role is based within our Devonport Royal Dockyard business area.

Comprising of 14 dry docks, four miles of waterfront and 25 tidal berths, Devonport is the base for numerous surface vessels as well as the base and refit centre for the Trafalgar-class nuclear-powered submarines. Devonport has also recently been selected as the base port for the Navy’s new Type 26 frigates and will become the maintenance centre for the future submarine programme.

The role

The difference our new Finance Manager will make

As a Finance Manager you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. The main purpose of the role is to act as the main point of contact for all IT charges between different business units, as well as Functional reporting.

Day to day, you’ll manage the finances and day-to-day issues of a multi-site operation, coordinate preparation of the month-end financial accounts. Ensure adherence to corporate deadlines and international accounting standards. Coordinate the quarterly forecasting and budgeting processes. Oversee the IT cost recharge process, ensuring all costs are recharged to the correct site / business unit, to the agreed timetables

Essential experience

  • Fully qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA (or equivalent)
  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent)
  • Efficient in Excel
  • Self-motivated
