Your role
As an Associate Director in our Corporate Tax team you will have ample opportunity to broaden your experience and knowledge across the wider business tax area.
Joining our team will allow you to:
- Expand your M&A skills
- Gain exposure to a diverse client base, including multinational listed groups, private equity houses, infrastructure funds and privately owned business
- Participate in all aspects of the deal cycle from due diligence services, tax structuring, input into SPA and financing document input, post-acquisition implementation and reorganisations and on-going advice to companies in preparation for sale
- Get involved in client business development activities
- Hone your marketing skills
- Develop your technical skills either by receiving training and coaching or by providing it to more junior members of our team

Your role will predominantly be M&A focussed but with the opportunity to work on a broad range of UK and international tax advisory engagements. This means you will have the opportunity to supplement your M&A skillset with wider tax advisory skills and knowledge.
Our group of about 60 tax practitioners focuses on international groups involved in renewable energy, oil and gas, mining, power generation, and commodity trading, as well as a variety of other major corporate clients working in a range of industries on a truly global basis.

Responsibilities:
- Leading M&A projects, which will encompass undertaking tax due diligence, tax structuring and assisting companies with IPOs
- Delivering complex UK and cross border tax advice and dealing with HM Revenue and Customs on technical matters
- Working closely with our transactional services team as well as transfer pricing, VAT and other technical specialists
- Being instrumental in maintaining and building client relationships
- Supporting the development of junior staff

Your professional experience
- ACA/CTA Qualification or equivalent qualifications
- Experience of working on M&A transactions and having strong UK Corporate Tax skills and exposure to working with other UK tax and international teams.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as sound written and oral skills
- Experience of developing and maintaining client relationships
- Having a broader perspective of potential issues encountered when managing diverse teams and the strategies to overcome them; have a clear understanding of the firm’s commitment to creating a more inclusive culture
- The ability to exercise judgement and apply commercial thinking in making client recommendations.
